As the voice of the health coaching profession, the UK International Health Coaching Association takes a clear, considered stance on the issues shaping whole-person health and wellbeing and healthcare today. Our position papers set out where we stand, and why.
A position paper differs from a white paper. Where a white paper explores a topic in depth and presents evidence to inform the reader’s own conclusions, a position paper states an organisation’s formal stance on a specific issue, grounded in evidence, professional consensus and our members’ expertise, and sets out the reasoning behind it. These documents are intended to inform policy discussion, guide practice standards, and give our members, partners and the wider public a clear statement of UKIHCA’s views on matters affecting the profession and those we serve.
Topics range from the regulation and standardisation of health coaching, to its role within integrated healthcare systems, to broader questions of whole-person health and wellbeing policy.
